MTV’S NEWS & DOCUMENTARIES DEPARTMENT PRESENTS
SUPPERNANNY info at
bottom of page.

MTV is always looking for teens with a story. If you think you have a
story to tell them-e-mail them.
TRUE LIFE: I’m on a Diet
Dieting
and feeling the need to lose weight is a pattern that begins for people in
high school. While dieting
can be healthy for those who are over weight it can be dangerous for those
who do not really need to lose or who are not dieting in a proper manner.
More than 43% of high school students are reporting to be on a diet and
although dieting is popular among males and females, it is generally women
who feel pressured by society to keep a particular body type.
MTV
is currently conducting research and casting for an upcoming episode of
the Emmy Award winning documentary series True Life. Since
1998, MTV's True Life documentary series has covered a diverse mix
of stories relevant to young people, ranging from pop culture trends to
breaking news topics. Whether
documenting the lives of young soldiers going to war, or young people
undergoing plastic surgery -- True Life tells its stories solely
from the varied voices and points-of-view of its characters -- putting the
series in the unique position of reflecting the state of youth culture at
any given moment.
Recent True Life shows include True Life: I’m Obese True
Life: I’m in a Wheelchair, True Life: I’m Shipping Out, True Life: I
Have an Eating Disorder and True Life: I’m Adopted.
Currently, we are
looking for young men and women who are dieting in groups (weather it be
for motivation or competition), for athletic training, or people who are
trying out the latest fad diets. In addition, we are looking for some
young people to share with us the “downsides” of dieting when dieting
can be taken too far. We are
scheduled to begin shooting immediately.
If you know of anyone who meets this criteria and who would like to
share their story please contact us.
We will initially be conducting phone interviews with those
interested in sharing their journey. E-MAIL
ME!
Sincerely,
Stephanie

ABC’s
hit show SUPERNANNY is currently looking for families with overweight
children (toddlers to teens) who want to get fit, to
take part in its popular television series.
Does
your child have poor eating habits? Do
they suffer from self esteem issues related to their weight?
Would you like to see them get healthy and happy?
Making
healthy eating, exercise and lifestyle choices can be easy and enjoyable
if you have the right tools and know how to use them.
We’d like to showcase these choices, emphasizing what parents can
do to make kids’ lifestyles as healthy and rewarding as possible.
Using
the expert techniques that have made ABC’s SUPERNANNY a hit show, (and
her book a New York Times bestseller), Jo Frost works with families to
help tame even the rowdiest infants, kids and teens, restoring balance to
American households. Jo offers hands-on advice to parents on how to
achieve the best possible work/family balance, get the best out of kids,
(while still letting them be kids), and guide the family unit to a
positive place. The series is an intelligent, informative look at
childcare and parenting in the 21st century.
Interested
families should email us at supernanny@ricochettelevision.com,
or go to www.ABC.com keyword “supernanny,”
or call 1-877-NANNY-TIME.
